For a limited time, customers can earn a two-month Companion Pass by simply booking a round-trip flight or two one-way flights. This promotion allows a designated companion to fly along for free, excluding taxes and fees, making winter getaways significantly more affordable.

How to Earn the Promotional Companion Pass

Southwest Rapid Rewards members must first register for the promotion online. Once registered, booking either a round-trip flight or two one-way flights by August 28, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CDT will qualify. The flights must be completed by November 15, 2025. While this offer includes flights booked with Rapid Rewards points and Cash + Points bookings, it specifically excludes the airline’s new Basic fares.

Benefits and Usage of the Companion Pass

Upon earning the promotional Companion Pass, travelers can select a companion who can then fly with them on any Southwest flight for the duration of the pass. The designated companion can be changed up to three times during the two-month validity period. The pass is valid from January 6 to March 6, 2026. This allows for significant savings, especially for those planning multiple trips during the winter season.

Earning the Annual Companion Pass

Beyond this limited-time offer, the standard Companion Pass can be earned by flying 100 qualifying one-way flights or accumulating 135,000 qualifying points within a calendar year. These points can be acquired through various methods, including spending on qualifying Southwest co-branded credit cards.
